Hello classmates,
My general interest include writing and watching and playing football. I mainly write for assignments at NOVA but when ever I do have time, I do like to write about ideas I have that I think could be decent books or short stories. I have not played football in some time but I have always liked to and have not bee able to since I now work and go to school but when it comes to watching football, I will be on my couch every Sunday afternoon watching the Washington Redskins play.
I do not go on the internet for much other then to help me with assignments I am given by my Professors at NOVA, but when I do use the internet it is mainly used to keep me up to date on sports related news or news around the world.
My major is general studies because the major I did want to pursue here did not have the classes that I wanted to take. Once I finish my two years at NOVA I want tot transfer to George Mason to pursue my major in IT. I am not sure what field of IT I want to go in to quite yet but I still have a little to figure that out.

Introduction- TJ
Hey everyone,
My general interests are football, politics, military, and firearms. I would agree with Dr. Quinn that political activity is a civic duty. I love to debate political theory and learn new perspectives to gain a better understanding of why groups of people think differently. Also, I'm a huge football fan for both college and the NFL, even though I never played myself. I have been an Alabama Crimson Tide fan since before I could remember, and my fall and winters are scheduled around the football schedule. I also follow different military websites and like to stay updated on policies that affect those family and also the advancements in gear. Guns

Hello classmates,
I am Juliana Awiti-Kuffour. I am a Ghanaian and I enjoy cooking and listening to music. I also enjoy travelling.
The first place I go to on the web is facebook. I go to facebook because that is where I see friends who are living afar, all over the globe. With that, I am able to connect with old friends and also see what is going on in their lives.
My major is nursing. I am taking my prerequisites here at NOVA and then transfer to George Mason University for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

intro
I am a huge dog lover and have a dog of my own. She's a small Maltese puppy who is full of energy. I like to draw and go for runs.
My general interests are in technology, politics, and traveling. Recently I've been following the Trump administration and the controversial executive orders he's been signing. I generally use the News application on my phone. The application uses articles from New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and etc.
I generally use my laptop for school work, but when I use my phone's browser I access Facebook and the News application to stay current on issues going on. I also check my email frequently for anything from bills to new coupons for online shopping.
I'm majoring in Information Technology. I ultimately want to transfer to New York University and live in New York City. I'm hoping to figure out what field of IT I want to go into while pursuing my degree . I'm thinking about Cybersecurity as it is a fast growing field to enter, or something dealing with software.

Hi Everyone,
This will be our class blog space for spring 2017. We'll get to negotiate design and content as we go.
Today we're going to post an introduction just to make sure everyone is familiar with the software, and to also allow you to get to know your classmates a bit better.
Here's what you can add as part of a multi-paragraph introduction:
1. general interests
2. first place I go on the web (and why)
3. Major
I'll go first:
My general interests are in education, technology, personal finance, and politics. I think political activity and awareness is a civic duty, and I'm very closely watching the Betsy DeVos's nomination process for Education Secretary. I found this article on her from the Washington Post, "A Sobering Look at What Betsy DeVos Did to Education in Michigan — And What She Might Do as Secretary of Education" and from this article I'll continue to read from sites like the BBC, Guardian, New York Times, and Al Jazeera to get some other perspectives on her nomination and history.
So the first place I generally go on the web is to news websites. I get in the habit of surfing one particular website first for a few weeks, then I switch it up. I also go to Facebook to connect with family and friends, and I spend quite a bit of time on personal finance sites and blogs.
My major was creative writing, but I remember when I was an undergraduate that I applied to work in a U.S. Congressional office in Florida. One of the tasks that I had to complete there was to look at a news article and determine whether there was "bias" toward the congressperson in the text. I didn't get the job--so I don't know if I was right about my interpretation, but I hope that it was just because I was young, or that there were many other applicants for the position. Since then, I pay particular attention to argument and bias. Perhaps it led me to this career?
