What is Yellow Journalism?

"Yellow Journalism" or click bait if you will, has spread all over the internet and is continuously flowing in and out of people's search  history. Yellow journalism was created by " a popular New York World comic called "Hogan's Alley," which featured a yellow-dressed character named the "the yellow kid". The phenomenon of "fake news" and "yellow journalism" go hand in hand perfectly because of the unreliable exaggeration that it puts out to the public.
Yellow journalism exists to trick people into viewing content that 1. isn't very reliable 2. is way too exaggerated 3. isn't exciting in the first place, yet it still tends to pull people to click on the link. People who work for yellow journalism are, you guessed it, yellow journalists that make money on the number of views that their click bait article receives. Unfortunately, yellow journalists get paid fairly for the lies and silly stories that they post on social media platforms, news articles, etc., but is it them or is it the people clicking on the actual article?

Yellow journalism is a very small and "harmless" issue that is spread world wide to fool people into believing something that isn't true or something that is true, but isn't relevant. The pictures here were screenshots of click bait that were found on Facebook that could easily be shared and spread to people. The problem with Yellow Journalism and fake news is that it can be spread and easily shared to so many people globally that no one will actually know what's true and what isn't.

  1. I agree with you on how people make money off of click baits, but I think you need to explains the pictures/links
and how it is related to your blog post.

  2. I agree how journalists are guilty of posting fake news for money and how easy it is to fool people into believing it's true. It was good that you provided visuals, but you should've went into further detail on how it contributed to your research. Other than that, good job.
